If you’ve ever been to the Round Top Spring Show, you know that fashion is half the fun in this tiny Texas antique town. It’s even earned the nickname “Texas Prom,” which tells you everything you need to know: the outfits are thoughtfully planned and anything but casual.

The days are long and often warm, filled with miles of walking, carrying bags, and making multiple trips back to the car to unload newly found treasures. And yet, somehow, everyone manages to look effortlessly put together in flowing dresses, boots, and perfectly styled hats. It’s part treasure hunt, part runway, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.

Round Top is so much more than just shopping. The Round Top Antiques Show is about community, creativity, inspiration, and the very best kind of treasure hunt. Getting dressed for Round Top becomes part of the ritual, it's an extension of the experience itself.

That said, there is a method to the madness when deciding what to wear. The outfits aren’t just beautiful, they’re strategic. Especially during the Round Top Spring Show, I always recommend dressing in layers. Mornings can start off cool, but by afternoon the Texas sun has usually made its appearance.

Over the years, I’ve found that dresses and skirts are far more comfortable (and noticeably cooler) than jeans for long days spent walking the fields. They’re lightweight, breathable, and easy to move in, which makes all the difference by mid-afternoon when you’re still hunting for that one perfect find.

And boots are absolutely essential for Round Top antique shopping. Between the dust, gravel, and the occasional patch of mud, they’re simply the most practical choice. My one non-negotiable? Make sure they’re well broken in. Round Top is no place for blisters.

My Go-To Round Top Outfit Formula

If you love having an easy formula to follow when planning your Round Top outfits, this is mine:

  • A lightweight midi or maxi dress

  • Broken-in boots you can comfortably wear all day

  • A wide-brim hat for both sun protection and style

  • A crossbody bag or roomy tote to keep your hands free

  • Simple, effortless jewelry

  • A light jacket or sweater for cool spring mornings

It’s all about striking that balance between feminine and functional. You want to feel thoughtfully put together, but still comfortable enough to walk for hours and carry antiques back to your car without a second thought.

Below, I’m sharing a bit of inspiration for this year’s Round Top Spring Show - pieces that feel effortless, practical, and perfectly suited for a full day of treasure hunting in Round Top.
